On Monday, January 27, the Mexico City Metro provided an update on the progress of the trains and the status of user influx across its 12 lines in response to the return to classes, which generated a greater influx of users in the system.
Dozens of users expressed frustration over the crowds and delays, especially on lines 3, 7, 9, A, and B, where user demand created considerable delays and access regulations to control the number of people.
The return to classes for UNAM students led to a significant increase in users on the STC Metro. Estimated wait times and levels of influx on each line were detailed, highlighting delays and regulations on lines with higher demand such as 3, 9, and A.
In the face of this high demand and delays, users were advised to plan their trips in advance, consider alternative routes, and take precautions to ensure timely arrival at their destination.
